My name is Ron and I’m proud to be the founder of Fartley Farms, a small-batch hot sauce company based out of Columbus, OH. Being in the same city where CaJohn’s originated gives people a certain level of expectation when it comes to hot sauce, but we feel like we’ve held up pretty well here at the start of our journey.
Their journey began in 2007, opening asuccessful restaurant in Denver, CO. The hotspot delighted foodies withhomemade New York style bagels, paninis, salads, and the ever-theatricalliquid nitrogen ice cream. The restaurant was beloved by locals and touristsalike.
Like many things in this world, BOMBANANA Hot Sauce began as a happy ‘accident.’ We never intentionally set off to create a unique hot sauce for our community - just to make a sauce we really like. But here we are.
We start with sourcing our key fresh ingredients from local and regional farms and suppliers to reduce our carbon footprint. Our pepper supplier is only a few miles down the road from our facility. Our labels are made from recycled paper and of course, our glass bottles and PET lids are recyclable.
During the summer of 2014, my Dad grew some golden ghost peppers in our garden. These were some really tasty, fruity and hot peppers. When I first tasted them the heat built up gradually for a minute and the sweet flavor evolved with the heat.
I've always been a hot sauce and spicy food lover, but I could never quite find just the "right" sauce for my tastes, so I started making my own for myself and family. After a while I started to get offers from strangers to buy my sauces so I started a small business from that.
My passion for hot sauce came from my passion for cooking and entertaining. My team & I love to eat and love spicy food even more! What started out as a table sauce for a dinner party turned into a growing business specializing in bold & unique flavor profiles.
It all started in 2009 when I was trying to make the perfect hot wings with something other than Frank’s Red Hot. After countless trips to my local hot sauce store, my obsession with wings changed to hot sauce.
